Designer's Corner
Welcome to the Designer’s Corner at Jerry’s Paint and Wallpaper!!! I am Sue Rosenbaum the staff designer for Jerry’s for the past 2 years.
What is a staff designer and how can it help you?
It is an extra service that the store and website offers to help clients with color challenges. I am available for ½ hour complimentary appointments at the store on Thursday afternoons from 1-4pm and the 3rd Saturday afternoon of the month from 1-4pm.
How do you arrange for one of these ½ hour consultations?
Call the store at 703.569.2622 and let them know that you would like to schedule an appointment with the staff designer. They keep the appointment book at the store so you will know right away the availability that I have.
What should you bring with you for the appointment?
1. Any existing paint colors that you are not changing. Your trim color too.(bring the manufacturer’s swatch please)
2. Digital photos of the space and surrounding spaces, area rugs (specifically for the color)
3. Swatches of fabrics, granite, tile or any items that are staying in the space that we need to paint. These items will influence the color we select.
Remember that we have the best selection of wallpaper in a retail store in northern Virginia so we would be glad to help you jump back in to wallpaper too. The wallpapers are so fun and interesting now, the vendors are having a field day with re-interpretations of classic patterns in great current colors and scale.
If you have a specific paint question that you would like an answer to via e-mail, please click on the “Email us” button at the bottom of the page and send me an e-mail. I will get back to you with some thoughts.
Other services that we provide at an additional cost are:
If you would like to know more about trends in color and design and paint please check out the articles I write for the Buyer’s Guide under the Inspiration tab in the menu above.
Tip of the Month
- April 2010 -
"Should existing and endurable furniture be reupholstered?"
An excellent tip to be considered: evaluate the furniture for style and value versus the cost of the reupholstering. An antique chair that fits the feeling of a formal living room that was purchased for many thousands of dollars would be an excellent candidate as long as replacing the original upholstery did not degrade its value or worth.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing you at the store very soon!!!!
